Punggol is fast shaping into one of the island-state’s most sought-after residential estates. Characterised by waterfront estates and vast tracts of nature, Punggol has a unique modern-yet-rustic charm. Future developments will deliver a greater variety of housing options, more efficient transport connectivity, as well as an extensive network of recreational possibilities that will define living spaces of the future.
Punggol is earmarked to be Singapore’s new model for town planning with first-class urban infrastructure and signature sea-front housing. Residents can look forward to the Waterway Point which is set to be an iconic shopping destination as well as the new SAFRA Punggol boasting a first-of-its kind indoor water playground in Singapore. The future gets more promising when the Creative Cluster, Learning Corridor and new MRT connections converge in this highly-anticipated regional town centre.
The Punggol Waterway Park and My Waterway@Punggol are joint agency projects between HDB and NParks. These projects are part of HDB’s ‘Remaking Our Heartland’ initiatives to turn Punggol Town into a ‘Waterfront Town’ of the 21st century. Built at a cost of $225 million, My Waterway@Punggol was constructed by damming two reservoirs – Sungei Serangoon and Sungei Punggol.
The Waterway runs through Punggol Waterway Park, and both serve to increase park and water frontage for the housing estate and provide a green respite for residents. Designed with four themes to cater to residents of all ages, the park also provides residents opportunities for leisure activities such as jogging and cycling which can be carried out along the promenade at both sides of the waterway.
